Hey Everyone,
We’ve got some meow-nificent news! Pre-production samples have finally shipped and per DHL, we should receive them by April 3rd.
Everything is coming together even better than expected. Overall, things are looking really good, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how this project is shaping up. Our family can’t wait to get these chaotic cats into your hands!
As soon as we have the physical samples in hand, we'll do our final review and proof. Once we give the paws-up, Cat-In-8 will be moving straight into the production stage. Of course, we'll post an update here with photos and videos of all the components so you can see too.

Hello backers! It's been a while since our last update, so we're reaching out to let you know the project is alive and well, and making progress.
We spent the last few days at the GAMA Expo and met lots of great people. It has been great talking with all of you game lovers here at the conference.
Pre-Production Samples: We were hoping to have the pre-production samples from the manufacturer before Chinese New Year began, but it didn't happen. We just received an update that the complete set of samples will be ready by March 17th. Their woodworking team has not yet resumed operations, but soon will. These pre-production samples are what we need to see, feel, and approve - before they can start mass production. Once we receive the physical samples and we're sure that everything is perfect, the production team will begin.
As soon as we receive the samples, we'll update you here with photos and video. I'm sure all of you want to see the game as much as we do! Things will be moving at a much faster pace now, so stay tuned!

Hello everyone! Here are some of the things we’ve been working on for this Cat-in-8 project:
Minor Rulebook Adjustments
We printed each rulebook locally with a high-quality printer to make sure we were happy with all the colors, contrast and readability. It took some additional time for this step, but it was well worth it. Many times, what you see on the screen is not exactly what you get after printing. We made a few minor adjustments to enhance readability, and the rulebooks are ready to go.
Organizer Tray for the Deluxe Edition
We knew what we wanted for the organizer tray. We wanted every component to have a place, and that included a place for all the components from every expansion pack. The talented folks at LongPack have been working on the 3D mold design and it’s 99% there. We made some last-minute adjustments, and it should be completed within a few days.
Building A Better Box
We’ve spent quite a bit of time lately on the design of additional components used in the packaging and shipping stages. We want the games to be delivered to you in perfect condition. To achieve this, we’ve added some additional items:
1. Extra internal support for each expansion pack box to prevent it from being crushed when shipped with the larger and heavier base game.
2. Two versions of an outer corrugated shipping box with extra support at the corners. If shipping damage occurs, it usually affects the corners of the games. With these new shipping box designs, even if the outer cardboard box gets dented, the corners of the games inside should not be affected. We have one version for a single game with no expansions, and another version that will hold the entire bundle (base game, plus 1 to 3 expansions).
These shipping box designs have not yet been finalized, but we can continue to work on those as some of the other components are being manufactured.
Kickstarter Exclusives:
We’ve had a question or two about the Kickstarter Exclusive Chaos Cards and Sticker Set. To clarify: Every base game ordered (Standard or Deluxe edition) will come with all the Kickstarter Exclusives. If you ordered two games, you will receive two sets of KS exclusives.
Production Update
All of the artwork files have been submitted, reviewed and approved by the manufacturer. All component specifications have been checked and double-checked.
The next step is LongPack will manufacture a pre-production sample of each game, expansion pack, and the Kickstarter Exclusives. Once received, we will do a final check for any errors. If everything looks good, mass production will begin shortly thereafter.
One thing to note is that Chinese New Year is coming up soon - February 17th through March 3rd. During this time, all manufacturing will be on hold - as planned. This is their time for celebration and we wish them all a Happy Chinese New Year.
We are pretty much on track with the original timeline shown on our Kickstarter page. We’re getting closer to getting this game in your hands. We’ll update you with any unforeseen delays along the way.

We’re incredibly grateful for your support and enthusiasm. It still amazes us that this project has brought together backers from over 30 countries! Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
Project Progress
